LEATHER PRODUCT CARE
Everything that leaves our WORKSHOP will accompany you on your journeys through life for several (dozens) years. And we hope that these will be successful and happy years!
The quality leather from which we make our products ages beautifully. Achieving a beautiful patina is one of the natural properties of leather. Like any other natural product, leather is more sensitive to environmental influences. Rain, dust, sweat, sunlight, all of this can ultimately lead to a shortened product lifespan or the loss of its original aesthetic perfection.
And that's why it's worth the time and energy to regularly care for your leather jacket, bag, wallet, purse, or any other leather product in the long run. Here are some tips on how to care for our leather products.

1. SKIN CLEANSING AS PREVENTION
Regular cleaning of leather will help restore the original quality and perfect LOOK of your leather product. There is no point in waiting until the product is visibly dirty. Even the pores of an impregnated product will become clogged with invisible dirt over time, and the sooner you remove them, the better for the leather's lifespan.
If the product is not extremely dirty, a good quality product and a clean cotton cloth will suffice. Remember to always apply the foam to the cloth first and then to the skin with the cloth. This will prevent unwanted stains. After application, let the skin dry naturally. We recommend Collonil Clean & Care for our products.
2. REGULAR NUTRITION
Just as external moisture is undesirable, the natural moisture of the skin is important for its “healthy” appearance and elasticity. It is therefore good to nourish every leather product regularly, and over the years of creaming, the colorless Collonil Oranic Protect spray has proven to be the most effective.
The purpose of creaming is not only to nourish the skin and prevent it from visibly drying out over time. Regular application of the cream/spray will ensure that the color of the product is uniform.
One practical recommendation in conclusion: apply the cream in several smaller doses with a clean cloth in quick circular motions. This will help you easily create an evenly thick layer over the entire surface of the product.

3. IMPREGNATION
Regular impregnation with a quality product (from our own experience, we recommend Collonil Carbon Pro) protects the leather product from the penetration of grease, moisture and other impurities, therefore it is especially important for accessories and pieces of clothing that often come into direct contact with the vagaries of the weather - typically shoes, a jacket or a bag. Impregnation is also a prevention against larger-scale contamination.
The impregnation “clogs” the pores of the leather and creates an invisible protective layer on it. Collonil Carbon Pro, which we use ourselves, even goes so far as to cover the surface of the leather with a semi-permeable membrane. Thanks to it, dirt and moisture cannot reach the leather, while it can still “breathe”.
It is good to remember that impregnation is never permanent and needs to be repeated depending on how often you wear the product and how often it comes into contact with external influences. After evenly applying the impregnation from 20-30cm onto the leather, leave the product to dry naturally for several hours to a day.
WHAT DAMAGES THE SKIN THE MOST?
Never use detergents or any other chemical agents for cleaning.
Protect your leather from rain and moisture. If the product gets wet, let it dry naturally. Never place it on a heater or near an open flame (it could crack).
LEATHER IRONING
Never iron leather directly! However, you can iron leather over a cloth or other piece of fabric. Leather coats, leather jackets, but also leather bags or handbags can be ironed. It is important to be careful when ironing so that the iron does not come into direct contact with the leather. You can also support ironing by treating the leather at the same time as ironing to soften its structure. This means applying Collonil Organic Protect and then ironing. This is a proven procedure.
